That's going to kick up a big stink. Council funds being used to help Wasps.
If you look at Bobby Bridges' reports on Twitter, yes it has!

I must admit, I find it a bit unfair on Wasps to be receiving flak because it's for the Commonwealth games - it's not like the council has just handed a free £5m to Wasps.

Ah but don't let facts get in the way of a good bit of vitriol.

But let's not pretend that hosting the Commonwealth Games at the Ricoh would be some sort of benevolent gesture by Wasps for the benefit of all of Coventry.  It will be a massive commercial boost for Wasps as well as for the city as a whole.

Absolutely, one of the perks that Wasps no doubt considered when making an offer on the Ricoh in the first place. Obviously not the commonwealth games itself, but large events in general.
