That's going to kick up a big stink. Council funds being used to help Wasps.
If you look at Bobby Bridges' reports on Twitter, yes it has!
I must admit, I find it a bit unfair on Wasps to be receiving flak because it's for the Commonwealth games - it's not like the council has just handed a free £5m to Wasps.

Ah but don't let facts get in the way of a good bit of vitriol.
But let's not pretend that hosting the Commonwealth Games at the Ricoh would be some sort of benevolent gesture by Wasps for the benefit of all of Coventry. It will be a massive commercial boost for Wasps as well as for the city as a whole.
I doubt Wasps made a bid to host events.. it was probably CCC who enquired first, then ran it by Wasps. It seems sensible to then upgrade the facilities being used for the events taking place.
The outside of the atrium is probably being redeveloped to process bar coded tickets or cards before entry to the main building (i.e. before the steps up)..
Its not like Wasps are getting a new pitch, seating, and a new motif nailed onto the west stand.
Ticket sales proceeds will presumably go to the organising body and then any scraps fed back to Wasps to cover overheads.
Wasps will hope to make money by selling space outside the stadium to food vendors etc.
I'm not sure I'd be interested in watching Judo but perhaps wrestling..
