I note that within their statement they say it will need to be a quick agreement. So add pressure to Wasps even when wanting to stay. Nothing in their statement suggests standing down from Legals though.

You would hope that Wasps stipulated an end to legal proceedings ahead of any proposed talks or contractual agreement or state it as a clause, if not then SISU have the upper hand. Get a signed agreement from Wasps and carry on regardless.

I cannot believe that Wasps would enter into any agreement with CCFC unless SISU have stated that all legals have ceased.

If we do then we are potentially commiting suicide.

Sky Sports reporting only a one year deal. Not sure what to make of that. It kind of suggests Wasps are still not happy.

Totally agree. Wasps MUST get assurances. Totally bonkers not to.

At the moment speed is of the essence. CCFC need to know where they will be playing next season - apart from anything else, they will have season tickets to sell. A provisional one year deal will enable a longer term lease to be worked out, though Sisu can not play silly buggers otherwise back to square one next year.

A spokesperson for Wasps Group said: “We can confirm we have started initial discussions with Coventry City FC regarding an extension to their current license agreement to play at the Ricoh Arena.

“There are still a number of issues to resolve and any agreement is subject to contract and the approval of Wasps Holdings Limited Board.

“We are not able to comment any further due to a mutually-signed confidentiality agreement.”

Comment on SBT quoting Simon Gilbert on radio this afternoon stating SISU will take a case to the EU court. If it is a straight quote then a tad worrying as to what negotiations are going. However may be SBT crap.

Speaking further about the chance of more legal action, Simon said:

“A separate case could be taken to the European courts. We haven’t heard anything and there’s nothing to suggest that will happen.”

“Civil claims could also be launched - Sisu’s QC said that in an open court hearing - although again we have heard nothing to suggest that.”

Pretty sure Derek has played hardball during his career, so between him and a QC on £800 an hour, I’m confident that he’ll get what he wants as an outcome. Whatever that may be.
