If he had been named in that team then he almost certainly wouldn't be going to world cup as virtually none of that team will, not being named leaves a glimmer of hope still.

There was a rumour (on TRP front page) he was going to play for the BaBaa's.

Saw that and same logic could apply although for me if they are playing Marcus Smith and not sending him to u20 world cup now then that seems to suggest he is in serious consideration for world cup.

Agreed, that was what I took from that as well, although defies belief that they would send Smith before Cips.

I think I read (or maybe on the gogglebox) that any player taking part in the semis wouldn't be considered by England for this game and I'm guessing organising a baa-baas squad takes some time so possibly the same thought process applies there .

I thought that would be the case too but there are 4 Saints players in England squad and 1 Glaws player in the Barbarians.
