He has confirmed signing for Oyannax Rugby, being in Eastern France.

He will enjoy being there. If he shows the form that he was in for the latter part of our season, he will be a real asset to them.

Talking of ex Wasps, I will try and find out if Curtis is staying at Vannes for next season. If so, I will see if the game at Vannes between the two sides coincides with one of our trips to chez nous. We have a 2 hour drive to get there.

Its s shame Dai/Gaby couldn't have agreed a 1 yr extension as he had started to find form and build up an understanding with Sopps towards the end of the season.

Didn't someone mention he has a French wife who may have wanted to return to France though

Or maybe it was a bit of a flurry as he was back in the market.

Thanks for everything, Gaby. You were very harshly treated after the Exe game last year and got a 4 week ban. Sporting Sam Hill was gracious and tweeted Very fair tackle as far as I was concerned!

All the best for the future for you and your family.

Looks like Curtis is back in NZ now and his European travels are over.

If so, what a very odd 2 year odyssey for him.

Didn't he spend 1 season with us and presumably 1 year with Vannes?

So he's travelled to the other side of the world.. spent 1 season with us playing 1.5 games possibly.. then off to a 2nd Div club in France for 1 season and has then gone home?

Maybe he was just trying to avoid someone in NZ for 2yrs  ;D

I'm sure it was only 1 year, he left part way through the season didn't he?

He did, joined Wasps at the start of the season just gone, and left part way through.

Ahh.. my mistake.

Still.. not a particularly long tour of duty if he has returned to NZ.

Bit of a shame things didn't work out for him
