Normally its a club who doesn't mind giving up a home game and would welcome the extra money that presumably is dangled in front of them (lower table team?)

In my view the previous games have been poorly planned out and promoted and because of that a pretty much pointless exercise

Gallagher's are American and are involved in arranging so suspect it will be better this time around.

I really dislike this sort of gimmick. Games like this end up being atmosphereless and devalued. I also hope it's not a Wasps game. These games do nothing to "spread the word" and usually end up as failed experiments.

I doubt if we'll be offered a game in the States. Our name could be misconstrued :)

Think they had this game last time for st paddy’s day in the states- the prem and European champions against the team Americans love to get behind

Would make sense to do it again

Good thought Heathen!

Irish will almost certainly be asked to be the "home team".

I think the last game featured Falcons as the home team and Sarries. Of all the teams to choose to try and promote the fast running game of rugby.. kick and chase Sarries.

I think Glos would be a good advert for the game.

Generally the matches have taken place in the eastern time zone so that the UK TV audience can watch the game later in evening live but I believe the best USA club teams and higher participation is on the west coast.

Whoever organises it needs to work alongside with their new fledging pro league and a club to try promote the one off game a lot better.

Before last season's game BT sport interviewed a lot of people and it seemed half were simply ex-pats. Interviewing the general public the day before elsewhere in the city (was it Philly?) most people didn't know what rugby was let alone there was a special one off game taking place.

To make matters worse the organisers then used cameramen and a director that obviously had very little knowledge of the game itself and therefore all the wide angle and close up shots were all over the place.

Wasps were at the cutting edge of such nonsense, l remember the game in Dubai (somewhere in the middle east anyway) against I think Quins.

Complete waste of time if I remember correctly....

Did anyone ever find out what that comment was all about?
Did Steve Hayes have a master plan to sell the club to ME money men?

I guess we'll probably never know now....

Could have been some money men interested in investing in a new stadium in Wycombe. Just a shame he tried to build it on a working airfield.

Surely internationals make more sense than clubs? I mean what will they make of Harlequins? Knowing our luck, we will attract people thinking we are White Anglo Saxon Protestants.
