Was pretty impressed with England overall.  Still suffering from lapses of concentration by allowing Wales back into the game but thought Ludlam, Ewels, Heinz, Ford, Francis, Joseph and Watson all looked good (highlighted for either being new into the squad, newly returning or in Ford’s case, often underwhelming).

Daly showed a couple of touches of genius (his drop-goal included), but otherwise looked shaky at the back still and was smothered going forward so unable to make a real impact.

I think Jones will keep Daly in the match day squad for his versatility and his long-range kicking capabilities but wondering whether we’ll see Watson move to 15 given his accomplished return yesterday.

Surprise of the day for me was Francis who has been pretty quiet in a Saints shirt from the handful of times i’ve seen him play and yet was the glue in midfield - Was robust in defence and allowed Joseph time and space.  Did the basics very, very well.  Jones loves Te’o, so not expecting to see Francis in the squad but wondering if we’ve been missing something in not having someone who doesn’t do the flashy stuff, but takes pressure off of those inside and outside of him.

Isn't 1PM actually midday at the beeb?

Probably any time really. Useless organisation which should have its payment structure removed.

On a rushed rewatch, I have to agree about Francis looking very good. Just like a good 6, you rarely notice a good 12. OK Manu can produce moments of magic, but unless he's doing that and the rest of the job, perhaps he's not the better choice (that said, I'd still start him at 12).

Daly's boot was good, not sure that he produced many moments of magic though, the drop kick was on a penalty advantage, I'd rather try a cross field kick for the try. His positioning did seem very solid though, he was always in place to take the longer kicks, the overriding issues are his defence, and his high ball work when it's competitive.
