Mike909: It was a Premiership referee for SA v Argentina. Had he changed his ways?

My view is that its a team effort - the players in SR and M10 and equivalent are pinged week in week out and as such don't dive over the ball and hang on as if its second nature. And its drilled in "release, roll, get to feet onside"

If the ref is faced with players doing that - then its likely the game will play out how the players react, more often than not.

But it does vary ref to ref and also their reaction to how the players "play" at the breakdown.

From that clip it does look bad. Would need all the camera angles to be able to confirm it, but that's what the citing process is supposed to be for.
I assume this was the cause of Heinz's HIA?

Not sure how it works for the warm up games, but if that had been a RWC match, then the disciplinary team would have picked that up when reviewing all the footage from the match. In theory anyway!

Shoulder charge to the head. Or it might have been his forearm/elbow. Red every day.

Flying off your feet is allowed nowadays by the looks of it.

As soon as this is stopped the better, plus less injuries

Agree with the comments above- looks bad, as in red card bad.
