Premiership Sevens
« on: September 07, 2019, 08:28:28 AM »
Will Wasps go for speed, or a more controlled game like Sarries last year. As if we needed to ask.

Odogwu
Sirker
Vellacott
Cardell
Kibirige
James
Spink
Porter
Wilson
Anderson

Any other forwards? Marcus Watson? Jacob Umaga?

I defiantly think we'll go out there with a quick, attacking team. We pitched it right last year in my opinion: I did enjoy the thrashing we handed out in previous years but having Christian and Marcus against Uni students never seemed fair.

Not sure on the team make-up, I'd imagine it would be players who would not be in the squad against Sarries and quite a few academy players too.

Looking at the squad you suggest backdoc - Cardall might be in line against Sarries, ditto Velacott and Kibirige and I don't know what the situation with Will Wilson is post Griquas - he may be having a few weeks rest before joining up with us again.

I'm gonna have a stab at:

Ademuwagun
Oghre
Curran
Seabrook
Porter
Jardine
Anderson
Simonds
Sirker
James
Bacon

But I wouldn't mind/be surprised to see Atta or Spink in there, possibly Barbeary too (what's better for 7s than a hybrid hooker/13?)

I had forgotten about Barbeary, and had gone for a team mostly from the premiership squad - which is more likely now that the squad is substantially larger.

I think I have persuaded myself to have a trip up the M1 next weekend.

Is  Bearbury currently banned for his spear tackle at RWC U20?

Upate : Just checked and he was banned for 4 games at RWC U20 and the first game of the 19/20 season.
