Anyone know any more about this?

Picked this up from the DW site :

"2019/20 Season

I’ve been told that a few changes are going to happen off the pitch on match day next season.

The fan village in the arena room is gone with what can be fitted in the stadium concourse. Cost cutting.

A lot of the community coaches who run the interactive games have been let go. Cost cutting.

A small profit ( less than £1 million ) will show in the accounts but that takes into a chunk of the CVC money already paid.

There is more to follow but it’s not going to last long. The business model as was is being refined with its that draining income being shelved including some conference and exhibition income streams.

Hope this off field stuff is glossed over by an improved season on the pitch.

Read that and wondered if it was similar to the casino leaving as rumoured on SBT which of course was completely wrong.

I know nothing, but I fail to see how the fan village loses money.   It sells food and drink, sponsors get to pitch up, people drink plenty. Sure you have to pay someone to face paint and security etc., but if you assume everyone who goes there will go to the concourse and purchase the same then you are on a slippery slope.

I would be sad to see it go, the only alcohol I have ever bought from there was when I found Cornish Rattler lurking in bottles in one of the bars. My daughter enjoys the activities etc.

I think there’s a hell of a lot of costs to likely look at before those make a meaningful difference.

Likewise WestWales, ironically, owing to the fan village usually being so busy by the time I arrive we drink on the concourse before the game...  Given that they don't have to rent the fan village, having it open when busy can't be an issue.  What I would presume is that the expected footfall for the cup games is going to be fairly low given that it is essentially a pre-season warm up and competing with the World Cup, therefore it may not open for those games and the hall may be rented out for another event.  Which is very different to the post on DW - of which is largely quite vague and doesn't make a lot of sense.

Rugby Finances do seem to be in a mess in general and I wouldn't be surprised if the Business Model at Wasps is evolving.  However I look at the positive business partnerships that have been completed over the summer; award of the Rugby 7s for the Commonwealth games; appointment of Stephen Vaughan to oversee the Rugby aspects of business; and renewal (in defiance to what SBT were heckling about) of the Casino as an indication of the clubs future.

I'm looking forward to this season, I think it will be a steep learning curve for the new squad however I get a sense that the team is closer than it has been over previous seasons and I'm hopeful that this will translate to better team performances as the season goes on.

smiler71112 should use a different alias if he wants to troll. I'm guessing he's a disgruntled CCFC supporter. If you do a quick search online he uses the same login for all sorts of sites

I was under the impression the CVC money hasn't been paid yet..which would negate the whole thread.

Not that I believe any word of it, stinks of troll stirring.

Can't see this being right. The fan village must cost peanuts to open and I've heard loads of people say that is what hooks them in as their kids love the activities.

I agree with the above, the facility is already there and takes very little to prepare, the traders are largely independents/businesses that are paying a rent/charge and I assume Wasps take a cut of takings. On that basis the club must make money from it, leaving it idle means there is no revenue coming in, making it unavailable makes no sense, the cost to operate will be very low, the revenue not astronomic but welcome. The commentary that led us here, is IMO fiction and supposition.
It was fine when I left it.....

Apart from a few of the core community coaches the vast majority are "casuals" who have other jobs who are bought in as needed.

At the supporters forum it was said that Verity Brown who was overseeing community was now focussing on match day experience so expect that to still be something substantial.

The FV was shut for a game last year iirc, but big differences exist between shut forever and every now and then.

It has been shut more than once - usually for a conference or something similar.  Also it did shut when it clashed with Netball but I noticed last season the Netball court on clashing days was put up at one end.
