I watched last years games on TV last night. Jardine played really well but ran out of puff. Sometimes he could barely lift his leg to kick the drop goal [and missed as a result]. Having Jacob there will allow more rest for him, same with Porter and Vellacot, and I guess they will play 2/3 of Sirker, K and O each game. Sarries showed how to conserve energy last year.
Wilson was fabulous last year.

Looks a really good team. Having looked at the other teams that clubs are putting out I'd say we are the strongest and most experienced - again I think Sarries are the biggest threat, but if I still gambled I'd put a fair bit on us to win.

Backdoc - totally agree (well done on the team too - closer than me!), last year we were knocked by the final. If I remember rightly though we had picked up quite a few knows and injuries and had to play the last two games with the same team and hardly any replacements so that would have been a factor. Bit more experience this year plus better options for rotations. I think you're right that it will be two scrum halves, 2 fly halves, the flyers (and Neal) rotating round wing and centre and then others (including Neal again) rotating round the three forward positions.

Irish looking good. Glaws look to be trying to play XVs.

Sirkers pace is just silly. Going round someone in 5m of space, without even needing to step.

Well - Vellacott looks a good signing and the pace available is silly! Fantastic start to the tournament. Neal looking sharp and Jacob quietly controlling. Sirker - blimey!

WOW! That was some exhibition of 7s.

There will be no way that we will be short of pace this season. Flament is a skyscraper.
