I know I'm biased but Heinz does a good job.  Quicker with the ball, better box kick with chasers lined up and ready and a better pass the Youngs, my only issue is that he doesn't have that cheeky chappy dart from the fringe.  He does what EJ and England want ...and that's deliver a game plan and execute it well.

KPP - I've been won over by Heinz . I probably hadn't given him the credit he deserved last season simply because I didn't see that much game time of him.

His passing is so much crisper and more accurate than Youngs and his box kicks are normaly competable as well.

One of my pet hates from a 9 is taking 2 or 4 steps sideways before passing from a ruck or lineout.. it cramps the backline up and gives the defence an extra split second to advance.. Care and Youngs have been doing this for years.

Daly looks to be lacking in confidence. Quite often when he has the ball and is faced with a one on one with a defender he'll try a grubber kick through which is effectively giving the hard won ball away.

He doesn't seem to trust himself to beat an opposition player or get his hands through the tackle to then offload to a supporter which JJ and Slade are good at.

Pretty surprised by how negative this thread seems to be. Thought we were sensible, kept it fairly tight initially over-powered them before opening up a bit.

With effectively a second-choice XV I think it was a good result.

As Raggs said, two games, 10 points, no serious injuries. I’m pretty happy with that.

If they make the same step up in intensity and accuracy then we’ll be just fine vs Argentina and France.

Let’s see how Ireland and Wales get on this weekend. Both started strongly, so there’s high expectations of both this weekend.

I’ve always liked the Aussies...  :D

With time-up and the bonus point secured we should have booted the  ball out.

Instead they decided to go for the 50 pointer and, did what Wasps always seem to do when we try to run the time down - gifted them a try.

My other thoughts - with his substitution at halftime is Launchbury now out of the reckoning? If so can we have him back?

I thought the Heinz/Ford axis was very good.

Daley wasn't really in the game.

I'd suggest our constant success in defence, even when clearly having won the games, and comfortably so, in the last 2, suggest we have at least solved some of our concentration issues and comebacks.

The problems have rarely if ever occurred vs T2 teams as we're so much better than them. I think Wasps would be pretty confident vs Tonga and the USA of winning, I think we'll only see if this is improved vs the T1 one teams at the sharp end

Perhaps points difference is in the back of the squad's minds to make sure they give themselves every opportunity to top the group? The game was won and couldn't be lost and 5pts earned so I'm wondering if they were trying to increase the points difference whilst playing against a Tier 2 team?

With regard to Daly - When Nowell comes back it would be good to start Watson at 15. I think Daly is an ideal bench player as he can cover 3 positions (to a greater or lesser extent), and it might give him a kickup the wotsit as it comes across as if he just expects to be picked all the time.

Daly is Eddie's perfect kind of player.
Fast, a bit of footwork, can kick, and has versatility to play different positions.

As an Australian, that's exactly what Jones looks for in his backs.

Look at the Australian teams back when Eddie was in charge of them.
A few specialists, but lots of versatile "footy" players.
Burke, giteau, Rogers, Flatley, Markham, Riff etc

I think England have improved a lot on not getting bogged down in messy phase play (most of the time), especially when Farrell in on. Farrell is very good a following the game plan not just for England but also Sarries, and he has a very good ability to look up and realise when they aren't making ground so he will kick it to bounce into touch. England seem to be able to play territory a lot better and keep the pressure on the oppo.

yes they are winning and they have 10 points from 2 games, very good but would you pay your hard earned money to go and watch, the thing is how much better could they be with a more creative back line and or a different game plan or a bit of both.
I don't see much wrong with the forwards it's the dull sarries kick chase I can't stand, yes it will beat some teams but I don't think they will beat NZ, AUS or SA with that game plan.

Why would you play more expansive/reckless rugby (especially with a 4 day turnaround), if you didn't need to, and you could keep a lot of things under wraps?

England have constantly put in some good performances, scoring some great tries. 3 games ago we were playing like lightening, if we've got stuck in a rut after just two more, we've got some more serious issues.

I'm amazed at the negativity that's about considering we've got 10 out of 10 and only conceded a single try (through a ridiculous passage of rugby in the 80th+ minute.

I appreciate a strong control game and an open flair one. I've seen England display both this year.

How many times have people bemoaned wasps lack of control game before?

It's all rugby and all impressive to me.
