Agree with WWW, unless Sarries are found guilty on the salary cap investigation, when even  with a points handicap they will also likely be thrown into the chasing group, unless they also have to divest players to negate an overspend. Wasn't the result due to be announced before the premiership season?

Supposedly it was before the end of September, obviously Sarries have made it go away. Also not sure the premiership would like to spoil things for England at the World Cup

The owners meeting was on 19th September and, apparently,  the owners want it sorted before the season commences - so 2 weeks today or thereabouts.

I wonder what options are available to teams if an issue is confirmed.

Teams will just send academy teams to play them if there is no realistic chance of winning.
