Concern as Wasps prop Simon McIntyre suffers third concussion in a year

Bobby Bridge reports:

I must say I am worried for him. Hope he comes through this.

Doesn't look good does it. The fact he wasn't aware that he took a knock in the game.. felt fine for the next few days, and then started to experience symptons on the Wed.

That doesn't sound good.

Not good especially delayed onset. I think another longish lay off. You do wonder how long his body can go on.
Let me tell you something cucumber

Really worrying for him.

Good to read that the club and the players are now so much better educated on recognising concussion symptoms and taking immediate steps when they are identified.  Can't imagine this happening even 5 years ago.  The sport in general has become so much better informed.  Long term health so much more important than a few games of rugby.

It is entirely possible he didn't take any significant knock, but instead that smaller impacts are now affecting him. If so, it is time to call it a day. As ever, this will become a prolonged, dragged out affair, but it is the only sensible, humane way forward. I would be concerned if Wasps attempt to play him again. Support him, yes, as he will need it. But, I think, the future for him is clear.

It's terrible, not least because he was looking so good when he finally got back on the pitch.

Yes, being honest I'd be amazed if he makes it back - not least because he plays in such an attritional position. A real shame.
