So he's not put his stake up for sale, just stood down from his executive position?  Strikes me as a symbolic gesture designed to appease critics, but doesn't appear to change anything.

Totally agree, it's just flak diversion tactics.

Who owns the club runs the club. Who would want to be the puppet Chair with Wray pulling their strings.
Why has he done it when nothing has changed in reality.
I suppose he doesn’t have to go the meeting of PRL Chairs!

He is still a "connected party" as he owns 5% or more so it does not change whatever dodgy dealing goes on, does not make it easier.

Apart from that I don't suppose if really changes a lot, according to Owen Slot it was something he was considering anyway before the cap business arose.

He is also owed tens of millions unless he publicly writes it off. He ain't going nowhere - just becomes the puppet master.

Will they be having a whip-round for a retirement present? There might be a few bob floating around somewhere.

5Live had a short piece on him around 12:45ish.  Chris Jones was saying how thankful rugby union fans and the sport generally should be to Wray as he has supported the game in this country.  As a vote of thanks I think we should all turn a blind eye to his cheating and let things slide.

For the record, I cancelled my BT Sport last week citing the cheating in the sport as my reason.  It won't change anything, but I will save some money as I have lost interest in watching on the TV.

Chris Jones is talking out of his back passage as far as I'm concerned.
I don't blame you for cancelling your subscription and whilst you may think that citing the cheating won't change anything, it's better doing that than doing nothing.

About half an hour ago they (5live) interviewed the reporter who investigated all this.  She confirmed that all this was to do with the investments.

Laura Lambert - I wonder if she's been allowed to read the PRL report?

I know she discovered all the shared LTD companies but is that actually what Sarries were pinged for or was it something else.

I wonder if someone tipped her off?

On the face of it absolutely nothing changes in the substance of it. In my opinion there will be something in this which seeks to negate further cap punishments. There can be as much title changing and smoke and mirrors as you like but until the fundamental make up of their squad changes none of it has any credibility.

It wouldn't exactly be a surprise - given the number of caps they can put out is so high - you'd expect there would be a need to pay.. a lot...

I'd heard that too, from two completely unconnected sources who you'd expect to know.
