Ok - there are people here nearer to what's going on - so what is going on?

Are the players not playing to plan?
Do the players not agree with the coaching?

What's up? Its not like we don't have more than half decent players - but what's the problem?

What's up? Its not like we don't have more than half decent players - but what's the problem?

The players will have the authority to make a call on the pitch. Someone made the wrong call (likely Umaga in those situations). It doesn't mean they don't trust the coaches or that they aren't playing to the gameplan. You pound the line, and when a mismatch occurs you send it to the backs. Maybe Umaga thought they had a mismatch, maybe he thought the forwards weren't numbering up well enough and we'd get turned over, maybe he missed a defender, who knows.
