You didn't think a massive heart attack would keep me down did you?
Around 4AM on Saturday. Not too much damage fortunately, primarily due to the fast actions of my daughter Sarah, the lunatic high speed driving of the ambulance by Fleur (over 110mph) to get me to Walsgave University Hospital within minutes, the immediate operation by Dawn and her team and the superb after care by the nurses and consulting staff in the Coronary Care Unit. Special shouts outs to Louise and Ayisa.
My specialist tells me that the Left Anterior Descending artery was fully blocked (with what I will call blood junk) and fixed with a stent. Not a Cholesterol issue, surprisingly.
The pain was immense. Far, far worse than when I broke my left wrist, or when I severed my Achilles tendon. Now, when someone asks me what score I would give some pain, those old events will be 2 and 3. This was mind blowingly painful. Not a chest pain. This I presume is what they mean by a 10.
Heart function is way down (just 30% volume, which I am told is bad) so lots of rehab to come.
Like Wasps face, this will be a long uphill battle, but I am up for it.
