Not good, The Championship has been a excellent breeding ground for players, coaches and referees for the Premiership and it's clubs. Forcing it to go to Amateur status will be bad news for everyone.

The RFU used to be flush with cash, what happened, or can I guess.

Terrible decision from the RFU, utterly self-limiting

Precursor to ring fencing.  Bad news.

They, unfortunately, will be in receipt of a PRL "parachute" payment of significant value.

PRL clubs still receive money whilst they are in the championship but I presume its not the full amount but this creates the situation of a fully professional club competing against clubs that are going to be forced to operate under almost amateur type status. CVC seem to have got their way of forcing the ring-fencing issue. The question is whether that's 12, 13 or 14 clubs?

The RFU is the richest union in World Rugby so where is all the money going?

They have put all their money into a single nest egg south of Mogdon Sewage works, and the latest investments in it have proved too costly.

Yes indeed they have.
Yet only last June the RFU were so confident.

Has anyone seen a business plan or budget projection? As such a change in circumstances would have surely troubled auditors and Board?

This is outrageous frankly. Quote from the Jersey chairman (BBC article I think) saying at previous meetings there had been no mention of missed targets? Proceed directly to ring-fencing, do not pass the championship, do not collect £246,000
