Congratulations to Will.

Nice break that led to Wales' last try.

At the start of the season who would have envisaged Will to be one of our international contingent. I didn't even know he qualified for Wales.

Does this pose a dilemma for him though? Will he have to join a Welsh province or have thw WRU binned that selection policy?

I suppose it depends on how the new regime feel about picking those who play in England.

But, yes, I suspect that if he feels he'll continue to get international caps by playing for a Welsh region, he'll be off when his contract is up.

All of these "can't pick overseas players" or "you must have 50 caps to play overseas" ideas are all there to help the relevant nation's domestic club teams.
None of them want to bleed talent to richer nations, so leave the lure of international rugby dangling keep the players playing locally.

As soon as it doesn't suit the clubs or the relevant national team, then players will get selected wherever they play.

If it was a World Cup tomorrow and Pivac desperately wanted Biggar, Rowlands and Thomas Young in the squad, the guidelines about international selection would go straight out the window

Not just to help the clubs keep their players, it also allows the national side to take the players for more and longer training camps and rest weekends.

Congrats to Rowlands. Last year he was a bit of a marmite player who divided opinion but he's slowly stepped up and is possibly putting himself on a par with Gaskell selection wise as well as the international call. He seems to have got even bigger as well.

From me Rowlands is now our clear second row partner for Launch. I love Gaskell and his play, but I feel Rowlands offers us the same level but more consistently with his fitness.

Rowlands' tackle count has always been high, but now he matches it in other areas of his game, specifically with his increased physicality in the carry.

I really hope we can hold on to him and not lose him to a welsh region.

Think it’s really enabled us to play a SR based on the team we’re against. More power pick Rowlands, more mobility/line out pick Gaskell

That rather supposes that Gaskell manages to play more than one or two games in a row without getting crocked for months, which is what has been going on for some great time. Matthews has proved far more consistent, but is neither power nor mobile. If you want mobile, pick Tibo.

And if you want a lineout specialist you could do a lot worse than TV3.

Exactly

It’s a real shame we struggle with injuries in the second row as our depth would make them the best collection in the league (bar EAs) if there were all fit

Is TV3 Theo?

We've not seen much of him but I thought he did well in his last game. Was it a Challenge cup game?

Yeah, Theo. I think it was the Agen game, but he played really very well and I think he has a big future.
