Woking rumour
« on: March 06, 2020, 10:44:46 AM »
Rumour on Shedweb thay we are in talks to ground share at the proposed new Woking football stadium.

They do admit that this rumour is not backed up by anything other than people allegedly "in the know" so very large pinch of salt.

Would seen extremely unlikely given the progress with the new training base.

Applying the same logic, I gather Gloucester are moving to share with Ipswich Town. They aren't, I just made it up, but it's been said in a supporters forum now so it must be true...

Of all the rumours I have heard through the years that is the most unlikely of all.

However I must admit I was sceptical about a place called the Ricoh Stadium when I first heard it!

The Ricoh wasn't that much of a surprise as we had at least played there. Woking I don't think so. They might get back a few of the older London fans but I would suggest most of the newer Midland fans wouldn't follow and personally a complete circle of the M25 would have me turning to local rugby or even a resurgent EA team.

Oh, I had heard we were moving to mid-Wales! Or did I just make that up.

I heard the Isle of Wight was favoured for a brand new stadium and a chance to build up a big local following...

Ah, but are we going to merge with Irish to become Irish Wasps? With a green, black and gold shirt? Wait, isn't that Saints?

Has the season finished that we are talking such bollocks already.  Off to Bristol with Lewsey as the new DoR I say.
