TMO Question
« on: March 08, 2020, 01:26:45 PM »
Question because I just don't know.

Does the TMO use the same feed as BT (I think so). If so when you get Austin saying something like well offside AND it is obvious from the very high cameras. Can the TMO advise the referee of that or is it out of his remit?

Watching Bristol v Quins.

I believe the TMO sits in the OB truck and can see feeds from all of the cameras covering the game, any of which could be used by the director in the broadcast. I don't think there are any cameras exclusiely for the use of the TMO.

As said he uses the TV feeds - which is why the TMO in matches involving French teams is handicapped whenever there is something contentious when using French TV feeds - the director always seems t lose the relevent feed.

Watching this one as well. Not sure about the TMO but makes me appreciate the kickers we have!

Watching the same game. Ref doing well, but it would be improved by offside being ruled on by the TMO as well - as its shut down too much of the space too often.

That said, same as most matches at present
