Probably the painfully obvious, but does this imply Lima is staying?

I would say so in terms of Lima, Owain has been injured and it does free up some cap, albeit a small amount.

Owain James to pursue opportunities in New Zealand

From the Offy. All seems very amicable and, in the circumstances, sensible.

Good luck, Owain.

He can always come back after 1-2 seasons.

An absolute talent coming up through the ranks, mainly at 10 playing u18 since he was about 15.
Has a lot of class and showed it when converting to FB/wing but missed out on a prem debut a few times when left on the bench at the end of the 17/18 season, a time when he arguably needed to break through into first team contention, then cruelly was out for much of last season with a serious knee injury and has not had much chance this season with it structured in the way it has been this year.
Probably has the most appearances for us in the 7s over about the last 5 seasons and will never forget that outrageous offload to Carr this year. He’s never let us down in the A League or cup and wish him well with this next venture.
Needs the game time and to kick on now at his age and with a few options at FB these days and the likes of Sirker, Williams and Bacon coming through on the wing I think we can cover him moving forward

A shame, I think he had tons of potential, good luck to him, hope he comes back one day.

Noticed Jordan Cordice, the academy TH prop who formed a very successful front row with Nearchou and Barbeary at U18 level is also out in NZ at the moment for a bit of rugby.
Hope the experience serves him well.

Wonder who is helping sort these moves, Umaga was a bit more obvious but with Wilson to SA recently and now Cordice to NZ I think these are great opportunities for our young guys

Is Leon Holden still involved? I know he became involved in property sales, but he still has a lot of contacts out there.

Leon has definitely been involved in finding NZ players for us and arranging sabbaticals, at least in the pre-Ricoh days.

Don't think Craig has had any involvement since leaving us
