He was a very useful squad player especially when you factor in his encouraging on field chit chat, but at the end of the day he was never first choice then and he would be even less so if he joined us next season.

He left to be first choice somewhere which he wasn't at Wasps.
I don't begrudge him that at all.

Unfortunately, that won't change if he came back and he'd likely struggle to make the bench.

Willis, Young, Carr, Shields are presumably the first 4 choices.

Then we also have Vailanu, Johnson, Tom Willis.
I feel that Guy would be fighting it out with this group.

I wouldn't be upset to see him return, but I feel that he'd be looking for somewhere that will give him a good chance of playing regularly

The seeds of a decent back row were starting to evolve under Dai. What happened when Lee took charge was that he took the shackles off completely. The now first pick back row really complement the attacking intent of the backs. It would have been an interesting call if YY had been fit.

In a cold light

He wanted to leave wasps, he left wasps (I was also gutted), he is now unfortunately injured and has been released. Speedy recovery wished.

I don’t see why we would entertain it at all.

Really pleased for Guy.

I hope to see him at the Butts Park Arena next season.

I do hope that this turns out to be true as he will then be in a club that has ambitions, and he'd join James Cannon and Craig Hampson  -  a  mini-Wasps nest.

Plus Alex Lundberg and Tommy Bell. A real Wasps home from home. Those five ex-Wasps plus at least three others with Premiership/Pro 14 experience, Ealing have got a fair squad at there disposal.

I had no idea that James Cannon had ended up at Ealing. I have just found this that he did from February too:

Interesting that he picks Ben Jacobs as the best 12! He was a cracking player for us. I do wonder if he'll be in the mix for the poll the club are running (though it'll be a two horse race between Abbott and Flutey)

Flutey didn't get a look-in at 12.  Erinle, Gopps, Henderson and Abbott.

I know, I thought that was a bit bizarre!
