After such a long lay off players are going to need a lot of conditioning and time together. They may be doing individual fitness programs but that's not the same as rugby training.  Ideally they'll need a couple of warm-up games, if only 1st v 2nd type games as well.

If they throw players straight in to high intensity games without that period they're asking for trouble.

I can't see the season resuming until about 4 weeks after its been deemed safe for players to start training together. What's the normal lead in after a summer break? And this on'es been longer.

Lack of game conditioning is a critical factor for all sports but it seems more critical for Rugby (both codes). There are a lot of factors for the sport to consider but if player welfare was top of the list......I think they’d cancel this season and start again fresh next (hopefully).
