Pretty much what I was alluding to. I am worried we get a bunch of extra internationals, with all the money into the Union's coffers,  but they let some clubs go to the wall in that time. You can see how that might be attractive to the RFU. Smaller top tier making us more likely to win in Europe, and makes the surviving clubs a bit less obstreperous and several internationals gives the RFU a chance to take more control over the players. I don't think honestly trust the RFU to not use the situation to their advantage if it drops into their laps. Maybe I am too cynical, but I get the feeling the RFU have been looking to establish supremacy.

Look folks, rugby is too much of a money spinner for broadcasters and others (e.g. CVC) have too mcu invested to let the game or even top flight clubs go to the wall. The analogy is not without flaws but rugby survived WW2, foot and mouth, SARS and so on.  It will take time but I firmly believe it will get back to somewhere near where it was although it will take time. Human endeavours have a habit of bouncing back.  It is the human spirit.

How does human spirit translate to cash in the bank? Let me know because I could do with some..

It is worrying that without gate money and in our case hotel and casino income also, some clubs are in danger of going bankrupt. Remember it was only Exeter that turned a profit last season. The game was Amateur during the war years and diseases like SARS, MERS and Foot & Mouth were no where near as disruptive as Coronavirus. I genuinely fear one of two Premiership clubs could follow London Welsh.

I stand to be corrected but I thought that the hotel and casino were not operated by Wasps. The operators pay an annual lease to Wasps. If their revenues dry up then it is at their risk, for which, no doubt they have insurance.

Yes it does, just not your bank (or sadly mine either)...

Technically it did.  But SW Comms who sponsor them massively showed a significant drop in profits due to their large marketing spend.

Obviously I'm not saying that Rowe moved the money from one profitable company to an unprofitable one so they both showed a small profit in order to reduce his tax liability, that would be ridiculous...

Well that's disappointing as I thought if (in better times obviously) the hotel and and casino were turning a profit that would indirectly make Wasps Rugby Club a little more financially secure?

If so why are we getting excited by the new hotel in car park C?

Firstly because its another lease which brings in income.

Secondly because it allows the Ricoh to host more, and bigger events thereby making the whole complex more profitable.
