From the Bulls article:

"Nizaam Carr will join the #BullsFamily and will link up with the team as soon as the COVID-19 pandemic travel restrictions are relaxed."

Might that mean that he'll be available to us for at least some of the remainder of this season, depending when that is?
We're a bit light in the back row for the rest of the season  otherwise.

Sorry.  'Seconded' was meant to refer  to Steve from Cov re: Tom Willis  (Must clean my glasses more often)

I am gutted about Nemo, he was a top class performer and will be sorely missed. Hopefully Vailanu will improve, I like him, he is a bit of a rough diamond but feel he will come good with the right coaching, particularly around his propensity to run into blind alleys. That said, I think we need another top drawer 8, Hughes was missed (despite being the best penalty magnet in the league on occasion) and when Nemo filled in there he showed his versatility across the back row. We should have some wriggle room in the cap now, it will be interesting to see what Lee has planned, as he will have known weeks ago that we would be losing two back row players.
It was fine when I left it.....

That's a massive loss and huge disappointment. Granted we have Tom Willis, but Carr has been class for us. Granted I'm glad he's not going to a certain rival, but what a shame.

Great shame, but good fortune to you Nemo, and thank you.

Really bad news, especially when you consider we are losing a key player to a South African franchise whose best players come to the Premiership for better wages.
Suggests to me Wasps are in a dire financial situation. 😒

We may be better off than others. Tigers look to be well in the brown stuff.

I don't think this is about money. Nemo has a young son so the prospect of being closer to family is probably a key factor. His former Stormers coach replacing Rassie Erasmus as Springbok Head Coach is another incentive.

I also think Wasps were caught by surprise by the timing of announcement as nothing was prepared. Had the club not offered him a new deal something would have been drafted for the website.

Sad times. Or Bugger. Not sure which.
One of our strong areas looks  a bit weaker after this week, but it is still a strong area.

Yes, without any tacit knowledge my feeling is this is about him wanting to be back in SA. I seriously wanted Carr to stay. But I'd be surprised if it was financial given that we've already persuaded the like of Willis, Young and Gopperth to stay. Can we go in with TW and SV?

Which is the big question. Great call if they get through the season as both have potential. Nightmare if by November we're looking for short term loans. Chronologically we've had re-signers followed by leavers. We won't finish on that so I have a sneaking feeling a couple of signings may be next. Mills bucks the trend but that was basically out there anyway.
