I agree this is a big loss and we’re probably a bit light in the back row now. Some of the money saved on Ash and Nemo has surely been spent already on keeping Willis and Young and will be needed to try and keep Shields and Willis T next year.
Imagine we might see Oghre and Barbeary play in the back row at times during other competitions as the academy backrowers are some way off where someone like Tom Willis was at that age.
Also losing Rieder and Atkinson last year  before this has left us very short of squad men but maybe a sign of us cutting costs before wage cap reductions are needed.
Morris can also play 8 remember and won’t let us down

Let's not forget Will Wilson, he's look good no?

Also agree with others, keeping Young and Willis likely required increase in salaries... Not sure if the replacement or new addition in back row would be an expensive one.

Very respectful article from Bobby Bridge. I do hope that Nemo adds to his Springbok caps.

With upcoming salary cap reductions, I suspect that there will be a surplus of players on the market over the course of the next 12 months
While there may not be a surplus of 1st choice players available, I feel that it will be possible to pick up very good squad players cheaper than we've been able to for a few years

Perhaps worth a look , Pat Lam (who to be fair has an eye for a player) signed him as cover...https://twitter.com/lukehamilton6
It was fine when I left it.....

Given Carrs young family & the importance he clearly places on the wider family of his & his wife parents I would suggest this is nothing more than wanting to be back home with his close family around him.

Shame but having children often makes a huge difference to how players view whats important.

I think this leaves us a bit light at number 8. We will miss Nemo's versatility, as well as his all round athleticism.

What a player, and what commitment to the shirt. Thanks for everything!

Damn

Probably my favourite player due to skill and attitude. Firstly, I'd like to say thanks and wish him well in the future. Secondly, I hope he gets a chance with SA.

With all those leaving - we're going to need one or two forwards to step up and take their chance. 8 is a specialist position, but one you can migrate to and I'd hope that overall we'll be fine. Also sorry to lose AJ and Charlie, who I thought had taken on some leadership responsibilities and was looking better all the time.

But - looking forwards - with the likely surpluses of players - I'd guess we'l be ok for squad members.

More than anything - having watched some SR from NZ this w/e, I'll be keen on some games!
