Then what was the purpose of the agreement in the first place I ask myself.
I'm assuming that the details missing in these reports is that it applies to 'some' clubs...ie the ones that don't want a reduction in the cap, Bris, Bath etc..

I seem to remember part of the fallout from the first time Sarries and AN Other were caught and let off was a new clause in the salary cap rules obliging clubs to flag up any loopholes they unearthed rather than immediately seek to exploit them???

The idea of reducing currently contracted players wage allocation to the cap (only 75% counts) was a a good solution but the qualifying date for being a currently contracted player should have been the day the clubs all agreed to the new cap.

I'm sure most clubs (or their CEO's/FD's) spotted this loophole straightaway but only a few have the ability to fully exploit it which then brings into question the committment of all 13 clubs to adhere to the new cap regulations
