First they take our current players. Now they take out ex-players!! They’ll be taking our mascot next.

I’m gutted by this. Huge fan as a player and maybe even more so as a coach.
He’s gone off and carved out his own career away from the familiarities of the Uk and done exceptionally well.
Just always assumed/hoped he would be back to us one day.
Imagine his name was in the hat for the job after Dai left or at least that we looked at getting him involved, possibly just a timing issue with Blackett also an attack coach and thoroughly deserving of a shot.
(Still hope for a king and Worsley led attack and defence one day however)

Who would you rather have running our backs - Lee or Alex? I’d have to go with Lee, as much as I loved Alex in a Wasps shirt.

Sounds as if Glaws is morphing into Gloucester  Wasps.

Why? I know he is a Wasps legend but I would not have ahead of Lee.

My worry of bringing in Howley, King, Worsley or anyone who played in that era as a coach is that their status may be diminished if their spell isn't as glorious as the side of the golden era was.

That said, one player from that era who has made a name for himself as a coach is Rob Hoadley. Two Major League Rugby titles with the San Diego Legion and the MLR coach of the year award last year. He recently stood down for family reasons, but no indication whether he'll be staying in the USA or not.

At this present moment in time I would rather have Lee and I’m glad he’s been offered the head coach role. He has our backs firing again and players looks like they want to play for him, and it’s great news us supporting young coaches like him, Blaze, Everard etc.
There is however no denying what King has achieved as a young coach in an unfamiliar environment in France, especially with his work fine tuning that Clermont backline, keeping the big names firing consistently over the years and presumably having to keep some big characters happy.
I hope we do see him back at the club one day but at this present moment the timing hasn’t quite worked out and as I said Lee deserves his shot.
Maybe one day

The sad thing about Alex is he was available - that is nobody wanted to employ him even in France after quite a few years. Undoubtedly they have got hold of a good coach but we have one totally schooled in English rugby and I think we have the better deal.
Let me tell you something cucumber
