Sorry, but Saracens
« on: July 18, 2020, 03:49:40 PM »
As Saracens have re-signed all their Lions this week, we have been subjected to nauseating articles on why:

"The culture at Saracens is second to none, that's evident for everyone to see''

Note that all the recent batch except Daly [? - I think] have been involved in Estate Agency with Mr Wray.

So they presumably had two options: sign up, or give the house back to Mr Wray.

I do not want to see any of these frauds as Captain of the England rugby team, including Itoje.

I think the comments made, particularly by Itoje, show that they have no understanding of what the club did to breach the rules. Of course, they haven't suffered by having to re-pay some of their special earnings.

Was surprised by Itoje. A ‘culture’ based on cheating/exploiting loopholes to build their legacy. He doesn’t seem too fussed about being involved in the misdemeanours or repentant.
Wonder what deals Sarries have been able to offer these guys, 25% off or maybe even improved deals

+1. No comprehension in the articles.

Probably something juicy once they retire  - heaven (?heaven?)  knows  wot.  Please Lord - let them  get shown up before I pop my clogs.  Re: Itoje -  when  he was in their Academy he was uber talented and he played  clean, but when he joined the seniors he had no need to play 'dirty'  because he is brilliant - but he does and seems (to me) to enjoy doing  so.  The thought of him being made English Captain makes me feel sick. I cannot agree with Sir Ian. much as I  respect him.  Falls off soapbox.

I was lucky enough to meet Sir Ian before the salary cap debacle was revealed in full, and he was quite vocal about Wray being a lovely man who has done a lot for the sport, and that it was success that drew the players, and not cheating.

Sadly I think that a lot of people share his view and don't understand quite how angry the fanbase at large still is about it.

I have friends who are EA STHs and still can see no wrong. It's all down to jealousy from the other clubs. Beggars belief.

At the point now where the lack of contrition makes me wish for the club to be disbanded as a pro outfit.

I wouldn't be surprised if they get caught cheating again in a few years.

11 coaches at Saracens

McCall and Sanderson - to stay is to condone everything.

Do you think it would take them that long?
