Yet nothing for this clearly (for me) intentional head stamp...I can't give the benefit of doubt on this one as the movement is too unnatural, well  hidden but intended.

When did that come in.

Described in RFU regulation 19 Appendix 1, not sure when it came in but imagine it is rarely used as majority of yellow are technical offences.

Most likely 1 week which he would have been rested for at some stage anyway.

Drifting a little OT, but in this condensed period of the season, are bans still a fixed number of weeks, where a 1 week ban could mean 2 games for some and only 1 for others,  or are they now going to realise that bans must be for a fixed number of meaningful matches? Ridiculous that Marler for example was able to serve his entire ban during lockdown
for his tackle tickle on AWJ.

In my mind foul play would be stamping on an arm or ankle. eye gouging.. so I'm with Hymen.

This looks pretty deliberate..

I did wonder why Launchers looked Dazed and Confused (Lead Zep)

20 years ago it was probably just play on
10 years probably a penalty
5 years ago a yellow
Yesterday, I was worried that it could be red, but yellow seems fair

Malakai and Lima need to be more disciplined.

Crikey, first time I've seen it from the 2nd angle and it look brutal and deliberate.

I thought citing officers reported a couple of days after the game (but that's just an impression) so maybe it will happen tomorrow?

If it doesn't get cited it will bring the game in to disrepute after all the efforts to improve player safety.

The question for me was if that had been a tackle perpetrated on a Wasps player, wold you have expected a card?

My answer would have been yes, it was high, although it wasn't intentional. Yellow was a fair call IMO.

Thought the ref had a decent game, he was at least consistent.

I've looked at this tackle as objectively was possible and I believe that its on a knife edge. I still think its a good tackle but I can understand why it was deemed yellow.

In answer to your question I would like to think that I would come to the same outcome if the tackle was reversed.

If his arm hadn't gone over the shoulder, it would have probably not been brought up. Unfortunately it did, and once it's there, it's high. It's then with force (even if the high bit wasn't), so it's a yellow.

have a look at prem rugby tv full match, 56m 49sec into the video (not the match) they show the foot in the face from another angle, looks pretty awful to me, don't know how the commentators never commented on it, I don't think that angle was shown during the match, could be the reason, definitely deserves a citing.

I thought it could easily have been a red under current rules. I was relieved it was only a yellow.

The thing is, 90% of the time players dip into tackles as it's what you're taught to do, to take strong steps into contact and not run upright. So tacklers have to expect this.

Are the bans 1-3 weeks or matches? i.e is it a one match, or is it one week, which include two games if played in 7 days? With the short turnaround, it seems harsh to penalise a squad already having to be juggled.
