Alfie played in the centre at school. That no doubt when he learned the dummy, soft hands and attack space ethos.
Personally, I think that he could play in a number of positions with aplomb.
Yep, and whilst normally at school was some time ago, in his case it was just last year .
I doubt we'll see him there, but it does make the 6/2 split slightly less risky.
Personally, I think playing him in the centres for any reason other than a bizarre sequence of injuries to the backs would be madness. School rugby isn't professional rugby, centre is not like hooker or flanker.
This reminds me of a poster on DW who advocated playing Marco Wenzel in the centres, as he has good hands and hits good lines. There is a bit more to centre play than that [speaking as an ex-centre who is affronted anyone thinks non-speciists can do a job there
