First up a team that will lose few to international calls. I do like it when a team can stick a finger up to international calls and still put out a strong team. Unfortunately we are going the other way.

DM reporting that England players will be missing for 11 of the first 14 Prem matches which, if correct,  is scandalous. How many across all teams will be injured away from their clubs.

I’ve summarised our fixtures:

Bristol (H) - 22 NOV
Gloucester (A) - 28 NOV
Newcastle (H) - 05 NOV
Sharks (A) - 27 DEC
Exeter (H) - 02 JAN
Bath (A) - 08 JAN
Quins (H) - 29/30/31 JAN
Saints (H) - 05/06/07 FEB
Worcester (A) - 12/13/14 FEB
Tigers (A) - 19/20/21 FEB
Irish (H) - 26/27/28 FEB
Gloucester (H) - 05/06/07 MAR
Bristol (A) - 12/13/14 MAR
Newcastle (A) - 19/20/21 MAR
Sale (H) - 26/27/28 MAR
Exeter (A) - 16/17/18 APR
Bath (H) - 23/24/25 APR
Quins (A) - 07/08/09 MAY
Worcester (H) - 14/15/16 MAY
Saints (A) - 28/29/30 MAY
Irish (A) - 04/05/06 JUN
Tiger (H) - 12 JUN

Strange not seeing Sarries! Also glad to see the last couple games of the regular season aren’t against probable title contenders (I think we haven’t had the luck of the draw with the run in fixtures for a few years).

I looked at the last fixtures first, looks like the easiest run in for a while

With the timing of this season and all significant transfer activity for next season done and dusted, there will be fewer unknown quantities going into next season wondering how new players / coaches will settle.  It will feel more like a continuation of the sort of mini-season we're just coming to the end of now.  No bad thing for Wasps.

A LOT of IFs and MAYBEs in any fixture list.

We have a lot of water to go under the bridge yet, let's focus on Chiefs on Sunday? With only a 6 day turnaround, there are going to be some tough decisions to make. Chiefs play totally different tactics, and to beat them, you have to beat their tactics, not play the Wasps way. Like we did against Sarries. We did our homework there and had a totally different (for Wasps) game plan. We don't have the capability to bash through them or run around them. Defend hard, pin them back into their own half, make them kick to us. Counter attack and loose play is where we can score, and penalties at the turnover, which means numbers in the tackle.

Nice to See Newcastle back in the list. It's been a bit weird without them.

Wasn’t there a World Cup a number of years ago during the league season so they decided to reduce the number of points for a win in that period to compensate clubs who lost a lot of players? I think it was before I really go interested in the game so was only paying a little bit of attention.

Yes, 1999/2000 season. Some matches had 2 points for a win and others had 3.

I note a small number of social media conversations around whether people would stump up for a season ticket with their team losing their internationals for half the season. Some suggesting moving to single match tickets.
I suppose it depends how many you lose to the various national teams not just Eddieland.

Watching the Bristol v Tigers game and Tigers fans must be getting really worried about next season given the above. The score doesn't tell the full story, they haven't looked in it all.

I watched it for about 20 minutes. Tigers team was totally outclassed.
