There doesn't appear to be a live broadcast of planning meetings but videos are posted 24 hours later on the council's YouTube channel.

The Planning Committee meeting kicked off at 18:00 with the training centre the first item on the agenda.

With respect to the application, the agenda pack states:

“Recommendation: GRANT subject to completion of Section 106 agreement”

Section 106 is an agreement between a developer and a local planning authority about measures that the developer must take to reduce their impact on the community.

I do not pretend to know much about planning regulations but given the approval by Stratford-on-Avon District Council last week (the local planning authority), is there any reason the committee could refuse the application this evening? Apologies if I’ve missed the mark here.

Yes the recommendation is from council officials but the actual councillors can be swayed by opinion and voters. They may not agree with the level of the 106 payment. Many reasons. Been there!

Our gym club had a Planning Application recommended for refusal by the officers, but unanimously approved by the Councillors, so no guarantee there.

Bobby Bridge tweeted that Stephen Vaughn was speaking about 25mins ago, so likely to be tweeting the decision.

The recommendation also makes an appeal more likely to succeed as it suggests there are not any planning reasons to refuse.

Granted unanimously.

Indeed it has - I have to say the committee, at least from the point when I joined, was quite supportive in particular its Chair.

Great day for Wasps and the players!

Good news. It sends out a real message that Wasps are here to stay.
