BaaBaa’s game off?
« on: October 22, 2020, 08:21:15 PM »
That’s pretty selfish from 12 players that broke their bubble to go to the pub.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/54652034

Impacts so many other people on so many levels.
All staff, coaches, behind the scenes, Twickenham, TV, etc etc.

And now the RFU are desperately trying to find new players to play in 3 days time.
Madness.
Hang their heads in shame.

Feel sorry for those English players who were going to have the chance to wear the shirt for the first time.

I’m not sure how this game can go ahead now.
Players must be winding down and on holiday by now. Not sure how you recruit another 5-10 players by tomorrow at 3pm. And yet still maintain the integrity of the fixture.

Looks like some of the Bristol players will be getting a game this weekend after all. (Assuming they've kept themselves Covid secure)

Apparently not.

The PRL have banned any Premiership players from playing. It’s now outside the window.
The players need a proper break before the season resumes. Or that’s the thinking.

Apparently the rest of the players will come from the existing England squad.
Apparently now looking for a lock and a winger to make up numbers.

Chris Jones on Beeb naming three EA players and Robshaw as 4 of the sent homes. The EA board has someone saying 11 EAs and Robshaw. Stupid people. Obviously EAs are beyond even common sense.

How extraordinarily selfish and stupid. I'd credited Robshaw with having a brain cell or two.  Wrong,  apparently.

What does EA stand for in relation to Sarries?

So I've seen the following names named

Robshaw
De Glanville
Wigglesworth
Wray
Maitland

Anyone know any of the others?

I really hope this was confusion about what the rules were....as opposed to a flagrant disregard for them.

There are some senior players in that group...and I find it hard to believe they rebelled on purpose.

No doubt, we will find out more tomorrow.

Reported in the Telegraph

While the Barbarians have a well-earned reputation for playing hard on and off the pitch, the players signed contracts in line with other elite athletes adhering to strict guidelines. “They all received notice of provisions which they have to adhere to,” Spencer said. “They then signed a copy of that to say they read it and understood it.”

Hope it is a few Sarries players so we can have final end of season dig at them.
Wasn’t happy with how many were involved anyway, I know with the restrictions selection must have been difficult but EA numbers seemed excessive.

Hope it isn’t Robshaw as this would have been a great send off for him and De Granville could have this counted against him for a while now with england. Very silly

Err.. Given that there were 12 of them, then that is against what must be the simplest and most widely known rule. 12 is more than 6 by any measure.

I'm flabbergasted by their stupidity, I mean how thick can they be?

I don't think there's anything that comes much thicker than that lot.  Deeply disappointed in Robshaw.
