Not our best performance by a long way. Sense of urgency and zip were missing for large parts. The catalyst for the change late on was Wolstenhome. Vellacott was very disappointing. Pack held their own in the tight. Lineout wobbled at times. back rows stuck to their task well - always reassuring that you have T Willis and Barbeary on the bench. I'd be tempted to start Barbeary at 8 next week. Lima better at 15 in our style of play. We were dodgy under the kickoffs. Always seemed to have our shortest guys under the ball.

Still a W is a W. Time to move on and step up a gear or two at Castle Grim.

Billy Searle shared a video of the Tom Willis try recognising Lima's contribution. I hadn't appreciated that he stepped in to the 10 position because he had recognised Umaga was down.

I thought Paulo Odoguwu did well today. Made a couple of good tackles and showed discipline in defence at the end to avoid conceding a penalty.

Was he playing centre when he came on for JdJ?

Seemed to go straight to centre as a direct replacement for JdJ, and I agree, for the fairly short time he was on he did well.  Only seen him here and there on the wing so far, but his stint at centre did make me wonder if the coaches see his future there.  He's quite a unit, and a strong tackler so could prove to be a good option at centre.  Would certainly make him very useful in the 23 shirt at the very least.

To be honest, it was a great team try that started with us defending in our own half and then came JTM’s excellent one man ruck (it almost looked like he doubted himself there). It went:

JTA ->
West ->
Gopperth/J Willis ->
Wolstenholme ->
Sopoaga ->
T Willis ->
Douglas/Gaskell ->
Wolstenholme ->
JTA ->
Sopoaga ->
Odogwu ->
Cruse/Kibirige/Gopperth ->
Wolstenholme ->
J Willis ->
West/JTA ->
Wolstenholme ->
Kibirige ->
Gopperth/Barbeary/JTA ->
Wolstenholme ->
Sopoaga ->
Douglas ->
Gaskell ->
T Willis ->
Bassett ->
T Willis

Every single player (bar injured Umaga) was part of the try ... all in exactly 60 seconds (76:35 to 77:35).

Excellent team try!

Nice but try Kilchoman from Islay. A newish small distillery with interesting products.
