Scrum was rock solid. Brilliant.
Dan was rusty for 10 and then imperious for 60.
Charlie showed that he can operate at this level.
Jimmy’s experienced chat is priceless.
Jack and Thomas are always difficult.
We have missed Will Rowlands. And his ‘meat’.

Sopps has such good attributes spotting opportunities and space....but needs to commit to tackles, legally.

Good defensive efforts all round.
Alfie just eats up space...from nowhere.

But to go further, we need to play with better hands.
We need to maintain possession for longer.
We need to cut out pointless penalties.
And we need to tighten up with ball in hand and be more clinical.

Overall...a great bonus point win, albeit against a weakened covid opposition.

Come on you Wasps!

Agree with the plus points and would throw in West, Brookes and Bassett. JB does everything so well.

Ever since my daughter pointed out how Bassett walks on his toes , you get drawn to keeping an eye on him and see the effort he puts in, including positioning off the ball.

I called him 'Twinkletoes' when he first joined Wasps and have never seen any reason  to change.  He is great.

Bassett is possibly the most underrated English winger in the premiership. Power, pace and commitment to the cause. Could never understand why he couldn’t get a game under Dia towards the end.

Sprinters tend to have an intoed gait i.e. their legs/feet are rotated inwards. It gives a mechanical advantage.

Was the performance that good? I was only following online and it sounded scrappy and underwhelming against a pretty poor Dragons team.

On that note, the Wasps match day twitter feed has gone from a thing of excellence to being incredibly, frustratingly unhelpful. Last three games I have followed the action from the oppo's feed for want of information.

I guess on reflection it wasn’t as bad as it seemed at the time. Just silly mistakes that are so close to  being  perfect moves.Individually most players had a good game ,but collectively failed to come together to give a coherent performance.

Frustrating , but that’s why I watch/support Wasps over safer metronomic teams.

Here are a couple of our tries.

First Tom Cruse. Great pass from Dobby, Amazing 'lean back' by Odogwu. Note Tom's Rotherham Rugby celebration ;)

Second Dobby. Kick dummy and break by Lima completely opens up the Dragons. Kick too far and don't chase invites this counter attack.

There were glimpses of the form of the latter part of last season.  Glimpses that have really been lacking in our first 3 Prem games. However, there was undeniably some pretty scrappy stuff in between those glimpses and it certainly wasn't the exhilarating play we were treated to from March to October.  But there was enough on show there for me to think that we may be on the way to recapturing that.
