Seriously confused by the officials stance on player safety.
If de Klerk was not a penalty how can Booj be penalised for the Sale blocking runner running into him? How could the No 8's seatbelt tackle on Cruse not be a penalty?
The approach to player safety can be explained pretty easily.
Many years ago CMK made a pretty dreadful error sending off Nathan Hughes at Northampton for what would now be called a rugby incident.
He was rightly told he was incorrect and ever since he's viewed wasps as 'fair game'.
That's beautiful from Atkinson, why we aren't getting replays of apparent penalties is becoming rather obvious.
