Bristol v Bath (spoiler)
« on: January 29, 2021, 09:15:24 PM »
If it was a boxing match it would have been stooped as no contest before halftime.

You know life’s against you when this happens:

Bristol line out on 5m line and they change the front row. Good line out and drive, penalty awarded but new hooker goes over and try given. Just before the kick Tom Foley on the TV stops the kick and says that the ball wasn’t grounded.

Result: penalty try and yellow card for cumulative penalties.

Hard to imagine Hooper having much of a future in his current role at Bath.

The yellow was for the pen try, as long as you can identify who it was, it's an automatic yellow.

Thanks, I missed that but Bath were racking up the penalties and it was only a matter of time.

No arguments there. They've been dire tonight.

Absolutely embarrassing. Bath the biggest underperforming team with respect to their squad. I've seen the most arrogant comments saying someone like Marcus Smith should join a "good team like Bath", like they're any better than Quins. Actually Quins are still dangerous compared to this.

45 missed tackles tonight, 800 metres made from Bristol, 6 of Bath's starting XV made 0 carries, and 17 (I think) tries conceded in their last 3 games.

Embarrassing from a Bath perspective

Quite frankly Bath were embarrassing. Yes, they had problems but there's no excuse for that. I actually thought Bristol were not that good. That's how poor Bath were - they've given up.

I'm liking the look of that O'Connor lad. Joking aside, he's been going well for a long time now, it's getting really annoying.

I feel more sanguine about that. When a player leaves and goes on to look world beating the next season or two later, that's annoying, but piers looks more like a player who's kept developing with game time. Not necessarily something we could offer him at the start of that journey.
