Good luck to him. Lyon are not bad so we might come across him again.

On the positive side it free's up a fair wedge.

Was hoping he'd go to the Hurricanes because since Beauden left they've not been the same.

Good for him though! I heard rumours they were after Smith, and I guarantee he plays more their style and will probably transition better to it.

Thought he would be heading home to the Canes but if he’s been offered good money for a few years in France then why not.
Not worked out for him and we need to free up that money so I wish him well.

Give some of that money to Mala to retain him for a bit longer

Inevitable. It's just not happened and the current equation of him being one of our top earners but not our best player at 10 or 15 means it's the right thing for both parties. With Minozzi and Miller back not sure he'll play much of a part from here on in.

we can use some of the money to hire a driver for Stooke after he loses his licence.

Sadly - I would suggest any money will find its way into a very black hole keeping the club afloat. Really do hope I am wrong though.

Plus with the reduction in salary cap, any new signings would have to fit into that.

I feel like it's a difficult decision, because if you choose not to allocate this to either another marquee signing or expensive signing then that saves the club money. But simultaneously would having that additional signing help the club reach things like top 4 or 6 and hence also have financial benefits from that? We already have a very good squad, why not add a player who can add something more and help us do better.

I see both sides, but I personally hope we do make a big signing, but not for the sake of it. But.... We've not been linked with anything big. And if we were to make a big signing we'd probably have heard a rumour or something. Oh well.

I dont think a "big" signing in the backs would be a good idea with the current players we have.

A International class 2nd row with a bit of contained aggression wouldnt go amiss though.
