Moving on to the Bath Game
« on: September 27, 2017, 04:32:47 PM »
I've been wondering about the team were going to put out for this, and I'm really have no idea who is even fit any more.

I think it's gonna be a struggle for us.

We have those who were previously out who came on as replacements in the A team as well now. The standout replacement that came on, not a fitness returnee, was Antonio Harris. And he scored two tries after he came on, worked his socks off and really caused the Tigers a lot of problems.

The issue is if everyone is fit. But, what the heck? There are some who should not expect a shoe in to the team, so here's a list:

15. Le Roux
14. Wade
13. Daly
12. Macken
11. Bassett
10. Gopperth
9. Hampson
8. Hughes
7. Young
6. Willis
5. Rowlands
4. Launchbury
3. Cooper-Woolley
2. Cruse
1. Mullen

Bench:

Antonio Harris, Moore, McIntyre, Symons (or Garrett), Johnson (or Haskell), Simpson, Lovobalavu (or Juan de Jongh), Miller (or Watson)

Tin Hat time ....

I'm not going to disagree much with that.  I have been Simmo's biggest supporter for a long time, but something was not right with him last week.  Personally I'd probably start Gabi if he is fit.  The offloads and tackles he was making at the Sale game were incredible.  I will hoever be disappointed to see JdJ in the squad unless we have truly run out of centres without him.

I really don't know to be honest. I might not start Simon, he seemed a long way off the pace.

Also Symmons not starting is a big call, he has played very well in the past.

So, Guy Thompson MIGHT be OK to play, as should be Symons and Mullen. Marty Moore is less likely, and Gaby is out injured (probably until November). WLR might be ready.

The only light on the other injured is Dan Robson should be back for either Sarries or Ulster.

I'm vaguely hopeful for this one.  Not sure why, but I'm hoping that the defence will be aggressive and more coordinated.

Interesting listening to the Flats and Shanks podcasts (one of my least favourites, but it helps pass the bus rides), Flatman spoke to Ben Darwin a lot, and he's the cohesion guy, his business reckons that 40% of a teams success comes from cohesion, and the 10/12/13 combo is one of the most important, especially in defence.  We had effectively a new combo there.
