As always, things to work on. BUT ... 9/10/12 worked very well in attack and defence. WLR seemed to lack confidence in his own abilities. Under pressure, right in front of me, he threw the ball away. Luckily, the first person to grab it was (a lock, maybe Rowlands?) a Wasps player. There was one point when something he did came off and he trotted back to his position with a big grin on his face and arms raised aloft to the cameras. You could see he enjoyed himself most when he came in to the line.
No obvious injuries no. When Nathan went off, his leg strapping (the one that had been dead legged in a previous game) had been changed to include a large ice pack on the outside of the thigh.
The refereeing made a huge difference. Not the ref himself, who did make some very odd decisions, but the fact that it was very obvious that the TJ's and the TMO all worked as a team with the ref, and he took their input on board. Very early on, he pinged offside players in defensive lines, because the TJ was letting him know. It stopped Quins from disabling our attack. We got pinged more for it, which was not good. He reffed the scrum, rucks and mauls fine, but he missed an awful lot in the lineout.
Quins have picked up a hole in the lineout law that needs fixing for safety reasons. If the jumper for the ball does not get back to ground (is magically held in the air), they can drive holding him up there and the defense cannot tackle him. Or, at least, that is how the ref let it work.
