This is very sad for me.

He was my chemistry master at Spring Grove Grammar Schhol in Hounslow, when he was captain of London Welsh, and it was he who introduced Rugby to our school.

He used the school team to tried out some things he introduced into the unbeatable LW team of the time, and it was he who invited me to play at London Welsh.

When I left school in 1969 I went to play at Chiltern and then Wasps, but still kept in touch with him for a few years.

As I sit in my lounge at the moment I am looking at a photo taken in my lastt year of school, as captain of the school team and" Mr Dawes".

RIP one of the greatest centres ever.
