Now to find a retro white square 12 number patch for the back and I am sorted for Xmas. Wonder where they can be sourced from?

Nice.

Now, the question is, do I want that, or a match shirt replica, which is also nice...

And I also want the training shirt with the Wasp on it...

The training shirt with the Wasp on it is definitely a beware of the sizing. We found to get a comfortable fit we needed 2 to three sizes up from the normal for UA gear. It is definitely a try on in the shop top.

For me, I would wear this one most of the time out and about, like I used to with my old team shirt. Would look great with jeans. I am on a weight loss diet right now (trying to get down from 20 stone to under 14 stone), so sizing might be an issue :-) Currently I am 2XL (on a good day). My daughter long since nabbed all my decades old cotton rugby shirts as nightwear. She thinks they are cool retro. You might remember, but they always used to make them longer than leisure versions. Even at 13-14 stone, I would be a large or bigger though. My shoulder width, deltoids, trapezius, chest and neck always made me either large or extra large. It is my pot that has grown. No longer a six pack, more a 24 pack.

Plan on trying all of it in person when I'm there for the glaws game.

May not buy the match shirt though, sportsdirect are selling it for less, I'll get the size from the shop, then decide if I want to shell out some more.

Plan might be to see if I can get it cheap next season, and go with the cotton for now.

I feel like I almost like the retro shirts, but looking in the shop at the yellow and black ones, they don't seem to be great quality and quite basic in how they are made. My lad has an old London Wasps Yellow and black hopped cotton shirt, it has loads of quality details like reinforced stitching, thick cotton and details like the diamond pattern stiches over the shoulders, I had hoped for similar so just not sure now.

Indeed, if it is cheap, lightweight cotton and poor construction, it's a no go. For that price it should be top quality.

This is a really nice looking shirt, but I'm gonna wait until someone has had one in their hands and assessed the quality before buying, as the matchday shirt is lovely too.

Has anyone bought one of these yet and if so can you comment on the fit/quality please?

Cheers

Looked fairly closely last night and it looks a well made heavy cotton oldies style rugby shirt. Unlike the various hooped etc shirts mentioned this is branded UA and I suspect they want it to make sure their name is on a quality product. I resisted purchasing as I keep being reminded of the drawer full of old rarely worn shirts and tops.

After much pressure at work and home to take part in the Save The Children Xmas Jumper Day I've plumped for the Wasps Xmas jumper instead.
