"EPCR chairman Simon Halliday admitted their could be some involvement with the South African sides going forward.

He told BT Sport, "All of our stakeholders are changing and improving, so the opportunity that could be presented to us through the South African franchises coming in to make it a PRO16, that’s not agreed yet, but the debate is very advanced.

Listening to Halliday on BT he did not confirm it all he said was could. However to mention it at all makes it seem likely but without a time frame. I think SA Covid makes it difficult to reach agreements. Their involvement should dilute the Irish dominance greatly. SA weekend away for Champions Cup match - interesting.

Much as I love the Heineken, we simply don't have the squad to deal with these games as well as the league.
