And Wales used to have this problem when Gats was in charge,  especially against Australia. So can't see how he and Shaun would make a difference at Wasps now in that respect.

Wales came good eventually, though maybe stuttered in the WC semi when losing narrowly to SA. Much closer than England in the final though.

I stopped tracking it because it was dispiriting but IIRC we went down first in 8 out of the first 11 games, might even have been 9.

This stat is exactly what has driven the intense frustration around recent performances. Get drummed by 20 points and it's not good but it was probably inevitable early on. Lose in the last play and you're tearing your hair out. To lose so often is a classic sign of brittle confidence. For me that's re-assuring. Lack of ability is permanent. Lack of confidence can turn in one play.

What we need is to nobble the official timer, reducing the match by 3.
That or a coach specialising in the last minutes of matches, a sort of rugby Sir Alex Ferguson.
I am hopeful.for tomorrow.

Wuss will be going into this knowing that they only have to stay close and that if they push hard at the end they can probably snatch it.

After all everyone else has.
