Ealing finish top!
« on: May 31, 2021, 11:43:29 AM »
Saracens's final match of the regular season was cancelled due to a Covid breakout in the Hartpury camp. Usually it would mean a 28-0 win for the Estate Agents, but the RFU panel have, in their own unique way, decided it should be a 0-0 draw with no League points awarded.

End result is Ealing finish top, with Saracens in second place...

I wonder. We often 'loan' players to Championship clubs. Could the 12 clubs loan players to Ealing to boost their chances of beating Sarries in a play-off? Will there be promotion to the GPL this year?

I suspect there may be regulations against it.

* still have playoffs yet. Saracens will still get promoted as much as we would prefer Ealing.

Will be right behind Ealing!
Even in the women’s game yesterday I had a distinct dislike for Saracens and although nothing to do with a salary cap begrudged the forward pack that they’d put together there 😂

See Sarries are going to appeal decision.

Does anybody know if any guidelines were issued for the championship re cancelled matches. Just because premiership have their rules doesn’t mean they had to be same.

It's ok, $arries have a flexible attitude towards regulations.

It's probably a point of order from the EAs. The point being that neither Hartpury nor Ealing made any financial contribution to the RFU panel for such a favourable decision. Had either club made below-the-table payments, then I'm sure the EAs would have been just fine with it.
