Odogwu ACL Injury
« on: June 02, 2021, 03:08:43 PM »

https://www.wasps.co.uk/news/paolo-odogwu-injury-update/

An MRI scan has revealed that Paolo Odogwu sustained a tear of his Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) during Saturday’s game against Northampton Saints.

He will be seeing a Knee Specialist on Friday for assessment and management planning.

Paolo added: “This is obviously a heart-breaking end to probably the best season of my life, but these things happen. There is a long road ahead, but we move, and of course stay composure.”

Everyone at Wasps wishes Paolo all the best for a speedy recovery.

How much more bad luck can we get! Feel so sorry for Odogwu - must have been in contention for an England spot. We now have three long term ACL casualties. You couldn't write it.

Trying to recall a season where we've been this badly cursed by injuries. Up there with 2001/02 and 2011/12.

Still reckon it’s our gym/ training regime or are we asking players to bulk up too much?

Jack was injured whilst on England duty and Paolo was in the same camp doing solely gym work with the England staff for months on end.

If you want to blame the training regime Wasps isn't where I would start.

Good point ,but could it be our training/ etc is different to that done or demanded at other clubs which doesn’t help when players do go on international duty?

Think about it - these are players we aren't going to see in the team until some time in 2022. Puts more emphasis on summer/preseason rebuild of the team and confidence. Not a good position and still two hard games to go.

Not sure what sort of S & C at wasps or England would have prevented Jack's injury?

It's a tear not a rupture (hopefully) and so it shouldn't be as many months.
