Brive have announced a match day 23 with NINE front row forwards in their squad, 3 obviously in the front row, a prop at lock and 3 props and 2 hookers on the bench.

Reminds me of playing in a 7s team of props, we were great when we had the ball in long distance rolling mauls but struggled whenever the oppo had the ball or one of us suddenly thought we weren't props playing 7s and tried to be a 7s player!

I recall something similar from a club tour for a 7s tournament. We entered two sides — a propers 7s team and a Fat Boys team (six forwards plus a token winger). The fat boys were drawn against one of the best sides there, a side that had been thrashing everyone. Not our fat boys who managed to score three tries. Two from rolling mauls and one from a scrum — taken instead of a penalty— that started on our own 10 metre line
