Rob Miller... Definitely staying next season
« on: July 24, 2021, 09:16:15 AM »

Wasps have just tweeted about next season, and how it'll be great to see players scoring tries next season, and they include Rob Miller in that.

Therefore, he's definitely here for at least one more season

That firmly kills off the rumour lists. Great news.

Libking Jimmy and Rob as one in that tweet seems like it was a definite attempt to kill the rumours.

Now that seems like good news. Though why it hasn't been formally announced is, to me, a bit of a mystery.

The only open question has been Jimmy who said in an interview that he was in negotiations. The rest springs from one BB article wehere he admitted he was surmising.

We don't know what it was he was negotiating. Maybe another year, maybe longer with a transition to a coaching role, maybe just more money or better terms.

Either way I'm very glad to still have him in or around the team.

So very glad that they are both staying, particularly Jimmy.  They both have much to offer  esp JG with regards to coaching.  Good news.

Good news but, to be honest, I was never concerned they might leave.

Jimmy has the potential to be a successful DOR and and I’m sure he will transition into a coaching role with Wasps soon. Absolute no brainer.

Good news. Jimmy brings valuable cover at 12, 10 and 15. Miller is just a very good player. Competition for the 15 spot looks good. Miller, Minozzi, Mehson, Crossdale, Simonds.

Can I say thank you for putting it in the title and not just "Rob Miller" leaving it ambiguous and briefly giving me a heart attack. Quick and efficient!

I'll be honest, I was tempted to build some tension, but the days are stressful enough as it is.

On a personal note, I tend to feel that we underestimate the qualities of Rob Miller in a variety of positions.
I am extremely relieved to get confirmation that he's staying

and, IMO, over rated by others.
He's a great squad player who can slot in a number of positions but he hasn't been a first choice starter if everyone is fit for a few seasons. I suspect he fully understands this by the fact he's still at wasps.
For me, re-signing these kind of players is the next step on the path to a successful team. Blowing all the cap on superstars is lovely, but without experienced back up as well as academy coming through, it won't win you anything. All IMO of course

I agree with all you say, bp. A top notch squad player.
